One year ago

Exactly one year ago was the worst day of our lives. Jaana was extremely close to leave us and the fear and sadness were endless. A few days later her chances improved and so did her skills, just to be later hammered down with a dangerous and aggressive mycoplasma bacteria. At the low point, she did not respond at all nor was she able to move any part of her body, not even her little finger.

The reason I bring you all back to this, is to point out her remarkable and extraordinary recovery. She now can sit for hours, hold up her body straight, move every muscle, stand up with support for minutes, control her trunk and much more.

Jaanas recovery will continue for a long time. One has to realize that the steps might get smaller, just for us to be surprised with a huge leap one day. I am still confident that she will, with a some lighter aid, be able to walk again.

To all of you following her progress from far away; we thank you. I always tell Jaana about your comments, even if I do not read every single one of them to her. She appreciates this very much and I know she misses you all.

From Jorgen, Ludwig, Jonathan and Camille, we would like to say to my wife and our mother that we love you very much and will always do so! We are blessed to have you around us every day.

Jorgen, Ludwig, Jonathan and Camille

Dear Jaana,
We are thinking of you today and are so proud of all the hardwork you have done this past year towards your recovery. The therapy and fighting to come back are hard work everyday! We hope your days are getting better and that you will continue to do well.
This morning it was 9°C in Zug. A bit cold and wet to say the least. Guess summer is over for the most part and Autumn on its' way.
Please take care of yourself. Hello to Jorgen and the kids. Be strong and positive.
Much love,xo
Missy, Courtney, Eric and Freya

Jaana,
Saknar dig.

Hi Jaana, as always I am amazed at the amount of effort you can put into your recovery and am amazed at your strength and spirit. Well done girl! Still thinking of not only you but Jorgen, the boys and Camille from your days in Singapore and often looking back on photos of the fun our girls all had in Turtles (does Camille rmember Miss Cheryl and Miss Sumian?) and Parrots class at OFS. Remember they all had to take a nap after lunch on that little sleeping bag on the floor? Oh that seems like a long time ago as they can certainly charge through the day without a nap now! Not much changed here in Singapore and still the constant sound of construction bang bang bang!!!! Oh well! Take Care all. Jody

Hey to you all

Incredible. One year of struggle and fighting for you, Jaana and Jorgen too. And look where you are now. You did such a great job, respect for you and a big hug too.We are sure that your recovery will still go uphill Jaana even though the proces is going on slowly. Keep it up, every single one of you.
We think a lot of you and we hope to see you here in Zwitsreland some day. Tonight we will make another toast to the Molen family.
"Bottums up"
Until we meet again, take care and lots of love.

Happy Birthday, Jaana!! Even though this message is several days late please know that we are often thinking of you and love tracking your progress. We are so proud of you. Keep up the tough fight! You are very strong and an inspiration to us all. I just read Courtney's comment about it being 9 degrees centegrade in Zug. I miss Zug very much, but it makes me laugh to remember that horrible weather. The suburbs of Chicago are certainly not the most beautiful to look at, but we still have summers we can depend on. Oh, yea, and the Chicago Cubs just made it through to the playoffs! Take care and give that husband who loves you so much a great big hug for us. We love you.

Dear Jaana, Jorgen, Ludwig, Jonathan and Camille!

One year ago… We were with you and lighted up a candle for you all last week. And whenever Nevin looked at the candle he said: 'Mum, this is for Jaana right?' I was to write you before but we catched the flu then and ended up in bed.

It is just a wonder; your remarkable recovery! Which was only possible with your incredible strength, patience and confidence. And of course the wonderful tireless help and belief of your beloved family!

Take good care and all the best!
Lots of love
Family Britschgi
